Riverside Heritage Château/Convenient/Free carpark

Good value but be aware of requirement to upload ID and C/Card after making non refundable payment Positive: The host was very responsive, and it was a great location for our purpose. All things considered it was good value accommodation. Negative: Was unhappy to make the non refundable payment to then discover I was made upload ID and a credit card. I have no idea who or where held this info, and if i could have cancelled and got a refund instead I would have. I was also unimpressed by the advertising of a later check out. The reality was that this was available if it suited them at a cost of $50 per hour !! I wasn't able to check in until about 6pm, so I would have thought it reasonable to allow those before me a later checkout at no extra charge, and myself the same if the situation allowed. Some of the windows didn't shut very well along front of unit which didn't help the noise situation.

Good location however issues with noise, cleanliness, security and size of car soace. For the price paid not good value Positive: Location was handy to South bank. Negative: The carpark was insanely small and difficult to access off Vulture street due to traffic. I was driving a Kia Carnival and almost did not fit into the carapace. Apartment was cold as windows are old style and did not keep out the wind. Also very noisy with traffic noise. Several mugs were dirty and the apartment floors were dusty. Door to balcony not able to be locked. Weird pre check in requested ahead of stay including needing to provide Id and credit card details outside of booking.com which seemed sketchy. Would probably not book again.

Positive: Place was clean Negative: I was very disappointed with the booking and registration process. What should have been a simple registration turned into hours of back‑and‑forth emails, even after the fee was already paid. I understand ID verification is necessary, but the repeated requests — including “selfies” — felt excessive and made the process far more complicated than it needed to be. The place itself was fine, but the process to finalise the registration was frustrating and unnecessarily time‑consuming. I wouldn’t go through this again.

I would never stay there again and three other tenants said the same. Positive: The size of the apartment.

Allowed us to have an enjoyable couple of days at the Ashes. Positive: Convenient to the GABBA. Easy keyless access. Negative: Everything was fine. Light in the room with the sofa bed is flickering.
