2 Bedroom Unit Macgregor near Garden City

Clean Property, disappointing experience Positive: The unit is on the ground floor at the rear of the property. It was not regulation height, and two of our party were above 6' tall, so they were constantly ducking through door ways and under the ceiling beams in the main living area. Noise from the adjoining units is very loud. The owner has made attempts to fix it, but it is not very successful. It did not have good air flow, so condensation was a problem, especially in the bathroom. It also did not have an oven as listed on the booking. The appliances supplied were good. The place was clean. I had some concerns around some maintenance issues, and the owner was responsive to my communication but not consistent with their follow-through. On a separate issue, I had contacted the owner prior to finalising our booking and was assured there was "secure, off street parking" only to be advised on my check-in information that there was only street parking. However, the location was very good. Walking distance to Bus & Train terminals and the Shopping centre. Easy access to the motorways and a quick trip to the sports centre. Negative: We were travelling for a sporting event and required rest. Due to the noise from the adjoining units and the extremely firm beds, it was not very restful. The upstairs neighbours would come home at 11.30 at night and not wind down until 4am. They were not partying just walking around, talking to each other, but we could hear it all.

Great Location Positive: The apartment was clean, spacious, and easy to get around for my elderly mum inside, the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, each room could of done with a side light, as this would of made going to bed easier, for elderly people, such as my mum. Negative: The side step ramp didn't have adequate lighting for evenings, and the steps had wooden caps that were loose, so they made decending a little difficult at night, And at times, you could hear the other house guests, quite clearly.

Pleasant with room for improvement Positive: The host was very hospitable and was prompt with her replies when I needed something. The property was in a quiet residential area and the space was spacious for my cousin and I. Extra blankets were provided for the cool winter nights though it was not needed. Negative: I arrived at the property late at night and it was difficult to get to the back of the property with no sensor lights until you reached the door. Unfortunately, the wifi stopped working halfway through my stay and I was unable to locate the wifi router inside the property (the host was made aware of this and tried to assist). Though this may be out of the host's control but the guests that were staying above us woke my cousin and I up at 6am in the morning with their toddler running around two mornings in a row so the ceiling and walls between units in the property are not soundproof.

Positive and accessible Negative: It’s a ground floor unit and you can hear all footsteps and movements in the higher unit Not great at all hours of the night

Positive: The location is good, Olivia is an excellent host. She was attentive and responsive. Negative: Ceiling was a little dirty. The soundproofing is poor - we could hear whenever people were walking upstairs ans the walls are thin.
