Affordable Studio – Steps from UQ/ Shops/ Transit

Positive: Location is good Negative: I requested to check in at 2pm instead of 3pm and I was informed there will be AUD 50/hour by the host. Happy to hear from host that the room is not ready rather charging me.

Details to access the property were clear, however I arrived after dark and had to access the back of the property via an uneven path with no lighting - an insurance claim waiting to happen. The room was clean but spartan, a bed, 2 student desks with plastic chairs and not much else. A jug was included the room but no cups, nor could I find any in the shared kitchen area so there was little point providing tea and coffee. I attempted to use the shower the morning after I arrived but the hot water cut in and out at random making it impossible to have a decent shower. Even when the hot water was running, trying to find a comfortable temperature was almost impossible. Despite the place being very close to UQ I won’t be staying there again.

Cafes and supermarket a short stroll away. Unit very clean. Communication with the owner was outstanding before and during our stay.

Wouldn't go again Positive: There was use of a kitchen and washing machine Negative: Bad and unhelpful communication, ants everywhere when we went in
